Check the standard, downhill index and a planning target.

Use your age on 19 April 2027 and the official net chip time from a certified marathon. The optional buffer is your own training target—not a forecast of the acceptance cut-off.

Meeting the standard only permits an application; it does not guarantee entry. The B.A.A. verifies submitted results and may apply a field-size cut-off.

How the rule works

Four rules behind the result

  1. Use your age on 19 April 2027. It is not your age on the day of the qualifying race.
  2. Use official net chip time. The result must come from a certified full marathon meeting B.A.A. requirements; virtual, indoor and shorter races are not accepted.
  3. Large net-downhill courses are indexed. A 1,500–2,999 ft drop adds five minutes; 3,000–5,999 ft adds ten; 6,000 ft or more is ineligible.
  4. A standard is not an acceptance guarantee. When qualified demand exceeds the field allocation, the B.A.A. compares applicants by margin under their standard.
