Race morning control

Boston Marathon start time should be more useful than a table row.

RaceZip turns organizer wave, transport, baggage, corral and Start Village rules into a race-morning board. Tap your wave—no bib lookup and no personal data required.

Boston Common → Hopkinton Start Navigator

Boston start morning fails when runners miss the bus-loading rhythm, bring the wrong gear bag toward Hopkinton, or arrive at Boston Common at the wrong time. Tap your wave to see the organizer bus-loading and start sequence together.

Bag / gear

Check your finish gear bag in Boston first

Official finish-area gear check is around Boylston / Berkeley from 05:45–09:15; normal bags are not transported from Hopkinton back to Boston.

Transport

Load Boston Common buses on your wave schedule

B.A.A. recommends using the wave-specific loading schedule and warns runners not to arrive too early; the final official bus leaves at 09:30.

Bag / gear

Only the official Start Area Bag goes to Hopkinton

Bib pickup includes a small Start Area Bag; B.A.A. says this is the bag allowed on buses and in Hopkinton.

Facilities

Athletes’ Village has water, Gatorade and toilets

Buses drop runners at the Hopkinton Middle/High School Athletes’ Village, where bib access, water, Gatorade and portable toilets are provided.

Walk

There is still a 0.7-mile walk to the start

After leaving Athletes’ Village, runners still move by corral to the start; arriving at the Village is not the same as being at the start line.

Boundary: RaceZip does not invent a Boston Common → Hopkinton travel duration because race-day loading and traffic vary; only organizer-published loading/start times are shown.

Morning rule

Protect the next action you cannot afford to miss.

01

Choose the wave first

The start time is the final step; first protect the corral or bus-loading window.

02

Separate baggage from transportation

Large point-to-point races often do not let a normal bag travel from the start to the finish.

03

Re-check the organizer app on race day

Road, MTA/MBTA, bus and start-time operations can change. RaceZip planning is not live operational control.
